veteran John Cipollone
May 14, 2007 - - MARLIN, Texas--Global Rail Systems, Inc. (www.globalrailsystems.com), a Marlin, Texas-based railroad automation company, said today that it has consummated an asset purchase agreement to acquire Signal Innovations of Vacaville, Calif.
Signal Innovations, founded by Pam and John Cipollone, specialize in advanced train detection systems currently used in Global’s main line and yard automation products.
Global President Coy Beaman said, “We’re very pleased Pam and John have agreed to join our company. Signal Innovations already plays a vital role in our FAS-PAS™ * and modular yard automation systems by providing reliable, fail-safe detection technologies integrated into our current products.” Beaman added “This acquisition represents a major advantage for Global in developing and supporting even more advanced automation systems in the future and we’re excited about that. This is a natural fit for both SI and Global. Ultimately, our customers win and railroads are safer.”
Signal Innovations will continue to operate out of Vacaville, Calif. as Global Rail Systems’ West Coast Operations.
* - the FAS-PAS™ (Fail Safe Audible Signal - Power Activated Switch) is a cost-effective alternative that enables train crews and dispatchers in dark (unsignaled) territory to determine the position of turnouts and, if desired, activate the track switches by remote control, which is confirmed by wayside signals.
